Parts and Construction

There are no parts or any necessary construction. The Little Tikes Springlings Surprise comes wrapped in a some plastic wrapping which is easy to remove either by tearing it off or by using some scissors. That’s about it when it comes to packaging. From here the Springlings are ready to be played with.

Inside is a small stuffed animal that pops out of the top once you hit the button on the side of the Springling. The stuffed animal is stuffed with a big spring so when you hit the button, the little animal “springs” out like a jack in the box but leaves the container.

The Little Tikes Springlings Surprise comes in various animal types and containers. They are a collection so if you would like to collect them, feel free to collect them all.

How it Plays

Springlings are a very simple toy. Basically, all Springlings are just a different version of Jack in the Box. Since the little animal included has a spring inside of it, you push the animal inside and close the hatch. Then all you have to do is push the button and the animal “springs” out.

Being a somewhat cheap toy, don’t expect the animal to fly far. My kids will give the housing a little oomph as they hit the button to launch the animal. This helps the launch a ton. The little spring animal flies much farther doing this and the kids really get a kick out of it. You might have to show them how to do this first though.

My kids also like to play with the little animal alone using it to play with other toys. Also, they use the housing unit as a….potty for other toys and stuffed animals. Weird, yet creative.

Cleanup and Storage

Putting the Little Tikes Springlings Surprise away is pretty easy. Just put them away like you were going to load it to launch it and don’t launch it. Not only does it save space but you’ll know where the animal is when you want to play with it again. Plus, it’s already loaded.

If you are the collector type, lining these up in order should be very easy. They stack up and store just fine.

The Little Tikes Springlings Surprise are fun little toys that my kids still like to play with from time to time. Whenever they feel like playing with a Jack-in-the-Box type of toy, they will pull these things out.
